Décadence
Writer, Director | Experimental Short | Paris, France
Décadence is an experimental film that explores the provocative relationship between a Parisian, Mattheo, and
an American studying abroad, Miriam, as they clash over their opposing views on sex and emotional connection. Mattheo
believes in the freedom of meaningless sex, while Miriam holds the belief that intimacy should carry deeper emotional
significance. Through fragmented, non-linear storytelling, the film walks us through their escalating disagreement,
capturing the tensions between desire, detachment, and emotional dependency. Set in the intoxicating world of
Paris, Décadence interrogates the complexities of attraction, vulnerability, and the boundaries between physical
intimacy and emotional attachment.
